Our violin and viola program is especially
designed for children three and older. MB Muzik is based on
Suzuki
Method. The most important principles in the Philosophy
of Suzuki's Talent Education are:
The "Mother-tongue" Method
The role of the environment and parental involvement
The Suzuki Triangle: Student - Parent - Teacher
The priority of making a beautiful sound - Tonalization
The children can learn to play their instruments in the same
way they learn to speak their own language - "Mother-tongue"
Approach. This is achieved through listening, repetition,
imitation, and a nurturing environment. Environment plays
a very important role and because musical talent is not "inborn",
every child is able to reach a high level of artistic accomplishment.
We ask that the parents play the listening tape for their
children every day.
In the Talent Education, Suzuki stresses an importance of
striving for tone improvement despite of the size of the violin.
In the following quote, he defines "tonalization":
The word "tonalization" is a new word coined
to apply to violin training as an equivalent to vocalization
in vocal traninag... [it] is the instruction given the pupil,
as he learns each new piece of music, to help him produce
a beautiful tone and to use meaningful musical expression.
We must train the pupil to develop a musical ear that is able
to recognize a beautiful tone. He must then be taught how
to reproduce the beautiful tone and fine musical expression
of the [violin] artists of the past and present.
